How did I get this LUCKY? Finding the OC Sound chorus was like winning the lottery! Finding a community of awesome women to sing with and build friendships was the prize!

OC Sound is a warm & welcoming group of talented women who get together each Tuesday to sing, laugh and play together. From the moment I walked through the door I felt a sense of camaraderie and belonging. People were so friendly, coming up to me on day 1, to introduce themselves and share their experiences.

During my first few weeks, while attending as a guest, I began to learn the music and prepare for my audition. I appreciated the support the team provided me throughout this process. I could tell they wanted me to succeed … which helped me to build confidence … and pass my audition.

The music we sing is fun and diverse … ranging from Sinatra to Billy Joel to Queen. And when the voices blend in 4 part harmony , it's magical! I have only participated in one performance so far, but I look forward to many more. I know I will stay with this group a long time. They Rock ... literally!

OC Sound is the first acapella singing group I ever joined, and I don't think I can join any other barbershop group now!! I started going to rehearsals as a guest by recommendation of a good friend at the end of 2021. I had just moved back to California then, and having spent some time away from the States, I felt a little lost and behind and distant from my old friends, so I started searching for friends again, until my friend Amy told me about OC Sound, a group of women who love to sing and even compete!! I had stars in my eyes literally when I heard about a medalist, award-winning acapella group. I mean I just have been singing my whole life!! ~ so I felt the urge to check them out right away... And the rest is history! OC Sound has been such a fantastic family to me; every Tuesday night is a night filled with music and joy and laughters and good feels that ring in my heart long after I drive home each time. I highly recommend OC Sound if you're located anywhere in Southern California, if you love singing, and if you love having really awesome, lovely ladies take care of you and pamper you ?

I have been a member of the chorus for a few years now. I was welcomed from day 1 and continue to see the welcoming atmosphere for our guests who come weekly to check us out. I've seen our chorus grow in both numbers and quality of singing. I'm delighted to see a range of age and experience as we grow, especially the young moms who are looking for a little bit of something for themselves. We compete (we've qualified for an international contest 2 years in a row), we sing for our community throughout the year, and we sing just for the love of harmony! Please come for a visit…

Over the past few years I've been itching for something new to get involved in - something that would provide new friendships, personal growth, mental stimulation and a sense of purpose. I found it all in one place with OC Sound.
I've always enjoyed singing but hadn't sung in a chorus since high school (50+ years ago!). Our director is amazing and the music ranges from old time barbershop to Broadway musicals to rock (including Katy Perry and Queen - wow!). The singers range in age from their early 30s to great grandmas, and every age in between! Best of all, they are so friendly, warm and welcoming.
The audition process required a wee bit courage on my part but I was given all the time I needed to prepare - and had lots of help/support from members of the chorus. They truly want you to succeed!
So I'm now officially a proud member of OCSound and loving every rehearsal, every social hour that follows, and looking forward to performing with them this spring!
Thank you OCSound for being JUST what this girl needed! You are enriching my life in a multitude of ways. I can't wait to see where we go from here! ?

I recently moved to the area, and found this chorus while doing a Google search for local groups! I was a little nervous and had no idea what to expect (especially since I don't have much traditional singing experience, and didn't know what barbershop was), but I'm glad I ended up coming to a rehearsal last summer. All the ladies were very welcoming and kind, and there was a lot of communication up front about what the chorus was and what expectations were. I've since joined as a member and continue to look forward to rehearsals every week!

Joining OC Sound has been such a wonderful experience. I was quite nervous at first as I haven't performed or sung in a chorus setting for decades! However, the group is very welcoming and supportive. I've enjoyed diving back into music learning for myself, and it's also been a wonderful social setting with women of all ages that really enjoy having fun and making something great together! I'm so glad I found OC Sound!
